Sometimes the needs of the world feel overwhelming; so thankful we have the Spirit who speaks direction into our lives. Thanks for your comment, Susan! Have you read Kisses from Katie? Great book, amazing girl, and it addresses all of this. Thanks for your comment! Anyone who doesn't know Christ is in poverty-and those people are everywhere we go. We need to open our eyes and hearts, don't we?Susan Shullhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10035270581759561020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1470293354085165137.post-18940311990991391612013-05-10T06:00:16.573-07:002013-05-10T06:00:16.573-07:00I recently read a book called Conversations with G...I recently read a book called Conversations with God. I don't necessarily recommend the book, however, there was a thought provoking idea in it that went something like this: poverty and hunger exist in this world because we allow it to. We (being those who have been given much more than we need for today) chose to store up our provisions for tomorrow instead of sharing them with those who need it today.

It sort of floored me. Why do I feel the need to have more than enough? And "enough" is such a small amount really......if you consider those that do not have it.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11488520115193333200noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1470293354085165137.post-3997955495206434602013-05-07T04:33:28.219-07:002013-05-07T04:33:28.219-07:00Thanks for the encouragement!! (see: Loveboat) "Maybe that's why poverty has always felt like an uncomfortable social topic--maybe we've all just felt guilty that we're here and they're there, and we have it so much better than they do, and what can we really do anyway?" Girl. Thanks for writing this and writing is so well.Shannan Martinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06240696987027358314noreply@blogger.com
